Bantam Rep, U15, 2011-2012 (Blyth Brussels Minor Hockey)

Spectacular!  That is what the fans were treated to Sunday as they watched the home town Blyth Brussels Bantam Rep team win game 6 to close out the OMHA Semi Finals series against the Newcastle Stars.  The hometown boys posted a tie in game one with wins in games 2 and 3 only to have the Newcastle Stars claw back into the series with wins in games 4 and 5.

The boys had a great start to their OMHA semi-final series.  We travelled to Newcastle for games 1 and 2 this weekend.  After 2 games of total domination by the local boys, we managed a 3-3 tie in game 1 on Saturday and a 8-4 win on Sunday.  The boys did a great job living up to the rough and tumble Bulldog attitude, but did an amazing job of staying out of the box! 

Blyth Brussels Bantam Rep team won the 22nd Annual North American International SilverStick in Forest this past weekend.  The team earned the chance to participate after winning the Bantam “C” Regional SilverStick title in Kincardine between Christmas and New Years.

What a way to end the year!  A superbly played game by everyone.  We dominated the 5 on 5 play and limited Wainfleet's chances.  The only blemish coming 5 minutes into the game after controlling the puck in their end for so long, a bouncing puck gave them a break-away and a 1-0 lead.  With the faceoff at center ice, Dustin Pennington picked up a turnover at their blue line and raced in alone to tie it up! 

After 3 relatively easy round-robin games, winning 6-0, 4-2 and 10-0, the boys met a tough TCDMHA squad in Kincardine yesterday afternoon.
