Bantam Reps are Flying!
The boys are now 5-0-2 to start the season.  The past 3 weeks started with a 3-3 tie at home against Hanover. Playing a little too loose in the first 2 periods caused the boys to be down 3-1 heading to the third.

An individual effort by Arden Coultes was our only tally in the 2nd.  The onslaught of the 3rd started right from the opening faceoff with chance after chance on the Hanover net but the tender stood strong!  At 9:18, Wyatt Ducharme found the weak spot, assisted by Jordan Hubbard.  Then at 7:18, Dustin Pennington from Quinton Sjaarda tied it up.  The boys continued to press but could not solve this goalie again, ending at 3-3.  Matt McNichol played strong in net when called upon.

The following Sunday, November 6, TCDMHA (Tara-Chatsworth-Desboro Minor Hockey) came to Blyth.  Everyone knew from their league scores they would be tough but the boys were ready!  The game started quickly but took until 1:04 for Ducharme to score.  The 1-0 score held until 11:44 of the second when everything opened up.  Sjaarda scored his first followed at 10:26 by TCDMHA and then at 8:26, Coultes scored from Pennington to make it 3-1 for the home side.  The visitors came back at 6:51 on the power-play.  The boys regained their 2 goal lead heading to the dressing room at 3:54 with Pennington scoring from Josh Van Soest and Hayden TenPas.  Five total goals in the third ensured the win for Blyth Brussels at 7-4.  Coultes got his second of the game and Sjaarda finished off his hat trick from Ducharme and Trent Michie, and Ducharme set him up on the 3rd, as well.  A hard fought, well-deserved win!

A couple weeks off brought the Shallow Lake Lakers to town on Sunday, November 20.  A lop-sided 7-0 win was highlighted by many trips to the penalty box for both teams.  Two goals each scored by TenPas, Ducharme and Van Soest, and a single by Pennington were all assisted by Pennington (2), Coultes (2), Van Soest, Michie, Ducharme and Sjaarda.

The boys are getting ready for a big weekend coming up with a game in Wiarton at 2 on Saturday, a tournament in Durham on Sunday, and a game in Minto on Monday night at 8:45.
