Reps in SilverStick Final
After 3 relatively easy round-robin games, winning 6-0, 4-2 and 10-0, the boys met a tough TCDMHA squad in Kincardine yesterday afternoon.
The Blyth Brussels boys jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd period on goals by Conner Rodger and Dustin Pennington. They tried to hold on but TCDMHA just kept working and tied it up with 2 in the last minute and a half, to go to the break even.
Our boys rebounded in the room and figured out what they had to do in the third. We came out rolling, pumping shot after shot at the Rebel goalie. We were stymied until Dustin was able to get around him and bury another! We kept working the puck in their end, wearing down the clock. With 1:35 on the clock and the Rebel goalie on the bench, Hayden TenPas hit the empty net to give us a 2 goal lead! This only made for a more exciting final minute as TCDMHA squeezed one in past Carey, at the 50 second mark. A couple big saves and some scrambles were able to run out the clock and preserve the route to the final!
A great game by all 12 skaters and Carey in goal! Lets keep things going against Wainfleet!
