Game 2 of our 3 in a row...
The next middle game of three in a row was against the Mount Forest Rams on their home ice. After playing them the night before in Brussels and winning, we cannot let our guards down.
On a nice Sunday evening we traveled to Mount Forest for our second and last match against the Rams in this play off series. Having been victorious in a win the night before we must treat each game as a new match and not take anything for granted.
The first period was uneventful when it came to the scoreboard. Both goalies were kept busy and neither was going to allow any scoring against their team. However the second period was a different story. The Rams started out early with the first goal of the game. Not to be outdone, five minutes later Finner took a nice pass from Drew on defense to add another point to his stats and the first goal for our side. The Rams came back with less than a minute in play to get one goal up...but never fear, with only five seconds on the clock Dommer and goal tender Trevor passed the puck to Finner giving us our tying point.
With a break between second and third period both teams could regroup and be ready to end the game. And that is exactly what the Crusaders did. With only 23 seconds into the third period Finner passed to Carson and broke the tie. It was nice relief to have the upper goal. Four minutes later Avery took a pass from Nick on defense to find the hole in the net for scoring. This was the last goal of the game for our team and the one we needed to ensure we skated away with a win.
