Long drive....long game!!
So we packed up 3 vehicles for a trip to Lion's Head for a game against Bruce Penninsula #2.  Yes we can fit 4 bench staff, 3 adult spectators and a whole hockey "team" in three vehicles, legally.  We are small but mighty!!

It was clear drive to Lion's Head on March 1st.  And that is how we played the first period, with a clear vision and lots of team work.  Nolan Johnston handled a pass from Finner and Jacob Roth to give us our first goal of the game.  What a great start!  Approximately 4 minutes later Finner scored after a pass from Jacob to give us a second goal and the breather we bench staff appreciate.

The middle period was a different story, Bruce Pen #2 was coming back and they took the lead with 4 goals to our 2.  Time for a break as our boys were tired and one of our defense-man, Nick, took a brutal hit from behind that caused him to leave the remainder of the game.  It was time for our boys to refocus from retaliation and play hard to prove a point that we don't like one of our own hurt.

In the third period Jacob did give us our third goal.  Reducing the gap to a one goal game.  With only 5 players in the last 7-8 minutes of play after injury and penalties, Sem, Jeff, Nolan, Jacob, Dommer and Trevor had their work cut out for them.  This was a lot of skating for this army of men who had already played a great game of hockey.  Thank you boys for sticking with it and playing smart...you make your coaching staff proud!!

Apparently Mother Nature turned the weather around while we were in the arena as there was a snow storm for us to travel home in.  After a stop in Tim Horton's, where I feel was the highlight of the night, the team continued on for a total of 3 hour drive home.  It was convoy of BBMHA Crusaders all the way.

Coach Drew is going to have to get another job, as Jacob made a deal with coach to buy him a coffee and donut if he scored a goal and that is exactly what happened.  Incentive for future games perhaps...lol. Pretty sure we overwhelmed the small staff at Tim Horton's with our hungry team of hockey players at 11:30 pm on a Wednesday.

Great work again boys...have a rest and we look forward to continuing play offs on Saturday in Brussels at 6pm against BP #1.
