Game against the "other" Crusaders...
Both Midget LL teams met in Brussels for what would be their last match of the season...another chance for a game against buddies. A scrimmage against friends with reff!
I am sure it is true for both teams when I say that the games we play against our friends are the ones we look forward to the most. With a lot of banter, poking fun and giving each other a hard time, this game was definitely going to be fun to play and watch.
Burgandy, the "other team" started off the scoring with 3 goals in the first period. Brock Weber scored 2 of the goals while Jared Shearer and Craig Raynard counted for the assists. Jared gave his team their second point as Brock got the assist. May be best to keep this line together, they seem to work well together.
In the second period, for the Black team, Carson took a pass from Avery and Sem to put a point on our side of the board. We didn't give up as in the third period Nolan and Dommer passed the puck to Avery to give him the opportunity of our second and last point.
Listening to the chat on the ice, watching the antics between players was a real treat. Neither team cared who won or lost and it was all about having a good game of hockey. I think if you ask, the refs even enjoyed working this game. No pressure.
We have one game left and we will go out with pride. Be proud boys of all the work and effort you have put in this season!! See you all tonight and fans watch for Sam, he is our biggest fan!!
