First of 3 games this weekend...
The Crusaders traveled to Goderich to play their second game of the season against this team. A late night game on a Friday can be tough, especially after a week of exams.
The scoring started with Carson Richmond opening his position on the ice and accepting a pass from Connor Bridge. This was the uplift the boys needed to keep up the pace. Only a couple minutes later Drew Van Wyk received the puck from Carson, skated through the other team and counted our second goal of the game.
With 2 goals on our side of the score board we had to work just as hard to keep the Sailors off the scoreboard. The second period proved to be a challenge as the opposition scored 3 of their goals in this time. Thankfully to put us back in a tie situation Drew didn't hold back as he skated from defense through the opposition and out played the goalie. This put our guys a goal ahead for only a couple of minutes until the Sailors tied it up just before break.
Only a few minutes into the third period the Crusaders found themselves down a point. Not to be out done or give up Jacob Roth at 1:31 minutes left in the game received a pass from Jeff Gordon and Drew allowing the Crusaders to add a tie to their standings.
With the first game of three completed, it is going to be a busy weekend for these boys. Lets take it one period at a time, one game at a time and do our best to get some points for the BBMHA Midget LL Black Crusaders.
Back to home ice in Brussels on Saturday February 4th for a match against BCH.
