Game #2 with Huron Bruce Blizzards
The Blizzards traveled to Blyth for the second of three playoff games.  It was another great game of two well trained teams.

Things happened early when the Blizzards scored the first goal less than a minute into play.  It didn't get our Crusaders down as the persistence in their game kept moving forward.  Action was very back and forth for the remainder of the first period.

Momentum continued in the second when our players remained active in shooting the puck, making even passes and looking for the open teammate.  Goalie, Hayden Lee was once again accurate in net, keeping his eye on the puck and allowing the defense to do their job in front.  The Crusaders were not able to count a goal but they did show the opposition that they were not going to give up.

After a much deserved rest for ice flooding both teams came out ready to keep up a good game.  Halfway through the third the Crusaders found that empty spot in net.  Shea Cox from defense gained control of the puck, passed it over to Jake Bromley who in turn remained dominant allowing him to pass it over for our first goal of the game by Brett McCutcheon.  This totally changed the rhythm of the contest for our players.  With a one goal spread this game was by no means over.  Less than two minutes later Jackson Hallahan moved into action with dominance to gain his right to the puck.  Working with his head up he was able to locate Brett for a good pass.  This teamwork would allow Brett to continue down a great length of the ice and give he and his team their second point.  Down one goal and less than four minutes of play with the Blizzards in the penalty box, Coach Trevor pulled Hayden for a six on four play in the offensive end.  It was a sea of Crusaders.  Every player worked hard and continued to work the Blizzard's goalie.  We were not able to gain a point.  Unfortunately the opposition took advantage of an open net for two goals.

It was a good game to watch with many tense moments.  Our AP players worked hard and continue to be a great addition to our team.  It takes a team to win and lose a game and it goes without saying that every player on this team did their part and more no matter the outcome.  We are back in Brussels on Saturday for our last game against Kincardine.  Come on out and cheer the players on!!!
