Game #2 against Kincardine Kinucks...
After several snow days and a delayed game we finally took advantage of clear skies and traveled to Kincardine on Wednesday for the second of three games.  It has been a couple weeks since the team suited up for a game.

The score didn't work in our favour even though our PeeWee Rep Crusaders showed great skill, tremendous effort and every one of them came out to play Canada's sport.  Neither team were able to get one past either goalie in the first period.

Things changed in the second.  At 10:25 Taylor Wharton, one of our many valuable AP's, found an open area to pass the puck over to Kurtis Marks.  Kurtis kept the action moving forward as he worked the play over to Brett McCutcheon.  Brett found the empty spot in Kincardine's net and started the game with the first point.  The opposition worked up the score ending the period only one point ahead.  With time off for ice flood our Crusaders took advantage of the break and came back with nothing but hard work and positive determination in mind.

Only a few minutes into the third period Jackson Hallahan kept up puck control with an assist when he passed it over to Connor Dale.  Connor kept up the momentum with a quick goal and his team's second point.  With the entire team's dedication at 100% and less than four minutes later Brett worked up his chance for an assist when he transpired the puck over to Taylor for his single goal of the game.  With only one goal down coach Matt pulled our goalie, Tyler Groves, for a chance to play with six players and possibly tie up the match.  We weren't able to make it work in our benefit this time, but it will count for great practise in future games.

The entire game seen every single player work HARD and never once give up the chance to win or help their teammates play their best.  It was a very fast paced event with all positions keeping up the rhythm and allowing Tyler our goalie to work his position.  Coaching staff is thankful for the help of AP's Taylor and Luke Fisher.  These athletes worked equally as hard for their adopted team as they do for their own.  Tyler, Taylor, Kurtis, Connor, Bryce, Brett, Shae, Carson, Luke, Jackson, Thymen and Ava...you need to all be proud of your competition, dedication and hard work as the final score doesn't always reflect what happened on the ice.  Coach Trevor would once again be honoured to call you his team....even if he is in Cuba ;)

PeeWee Rep Crusader action continues on February 25th with our first playoff match against Huron-Bruce in Ripley.  Good Luck Team!!!!
