Game #3, last match with Kincardine...
Kincardine traveled to Brussels for the third and final game against the PeeWee Rep Crusaders.  It was an action packed showing of true hockey talent.

Scoring started very early in the first period, less than a minute into play, when Kincardine got one past our goalie.  It was time for the team to turn up the heat and make their own point on the board.  That is exactly what happened and it only took five minutes.  Jake Bromley helped to battle for the puck and moved it over to Brett McCutcheon.  Brett took control and kept the passing in motion over to Luke Fisher who went top shelf for the first of two points.  During this same period of play Jackson Hallahan had a great breakaway chance and shot on net.  Super effort as well was given by Jake for another shot on net.  These pucks may not have ended in a point but they all make a difference.  Exactly one minute later the Crusaders landed their second goal.  After rebounding high off a few players when Carson Bromley moved the puck back into to the offensive end, Luke made final contact to guide it into the Kincardine net.  We are now a point up and ending the first period.

The second period was busy in both ends.  Brett made some great rebound plays while TJ Groves our goalie was busy making numerous saves.  Kincardine did count a point half way through for an evenly scored game.  Both forward and defensive players worked efficiently at killing off a penalty.  Bryce Shortreed skated hard to push the opposition off track or simply move a stick to prevent a shot on our net.  Carson held the blue line many times keeping the action out of our end.

As the last period started it was an even match of two goals each.  With many battles in the corner and excessively long shifts it was an intense game to watch.  Kincardine was able to score early in the third period.  The PeeWee Rep Crusaders never once gave up the fight.  With only thirty seconds left on the clock Kincardine drew a couple penalties.  With the opposition down to three skaters and the puck drop in their end, the Crusaders took advantage and pulled their goalie, giving them a six on three battle.  It was a great barrage of hockey skill with a lot of hard work.  This would end the game with only one goal difference.

Everyone skated hard, passed with skill and defended their position well.  It was a good game to watch with many nail biting moments.   Wednesday night we are home in Blyth to play our final game against Huron-Bruce Blizzards....come on out to watch.  We appreciate the support.
