Snowman suit and scoring.....
The PeeWee Rep Crusaders hosted the Mt. Forest Rams in Brussels on Dec. 15th.  It was the first of three match ups in the next couple of weeks.  Coach Trevor sported his new snowman suit as after the game we would be gathering for our Christmas party.  It proved to maybe be a lucky outfit.

Scoring for the home team started at 4:52 in the first when Connor Dale received a stick to stick pass from Ava Strome.  This line had been making many shots on net just not able to get one past the goalie.  He proved to be a tough competitor.  This period also found the Crusaders fighting off a great penalty kill.  With just a little over 1 minute of play Ava took control of the puck, passed it to Carson Bromley who made his shot on net only to have it rebounded off the goalie and out to Jake Bromley for our second point.  Jake found the only empty spot and gave the team a "breather goal" giving us a 2 to 0 score at the end of the first period.

The second period was a little higher pace as the Rams were not giving up as they proved this with a goal at the 4:29 mark.  Crusaders had multiple power play chances but were never able to get it past the goal crease.

After the flood and a much needed rest, the game became a lot more interesting.  Our Crusaders started off scoring after only a few minutes in the period when our AP player Luke Fisher kept open in front of the net, found a pass from Jackson Hallahan and Ava Strome for our third point.  After trying all game, Brett McCutcheon finally got his much deserved goal, lone handed.  To keep things consistent Brett picked up a great rebound by TJ Groves, our goalie, and worked his stick handling down the entire ice for his second goal of the game.  Thus far this is TJ's first assist this season!!  Who says goalies can't get or help with goals!!

All game both teams had good battles in the corners, efficient passing and excellent power play work.  A special thank you to Jaxson Bromley for helping keep notes on the game.  This is important to allow accurate news articles.  Thanks :)

Our team Christmas party was fun by all and special thanks to the Groves' family for opening their home to our crew.  Much appreciated.
