Weekend Split
The kids of the Tyke Burgandy Crusaders had a weekend spilt after a loss on Saturday morning to a very big talented Mount Forest Rams team, and a hard earned victory in Bayfield on Sunday afternoon against the BCH Ice Dogs.

The kids hung in tough on Saturday against Mount Forest playing at a 4-2 score for several minutes. But the size difference proved to be too much and after a couple of cheap goals the Rams pulled ahead and didn't look back and won the game 10-2.
Our kids worked hard, skated hard, had our chances but the day was not our day. A solid game played by all especially the Piper girls. Hayden in net made key saves at times and hey....this girl can do the splits!!!! Payton was stellar on defence getting more and more comfortable every shift on defence. Will "THE THRILL" Nesbitt scored his first goal of the campaign after a solid play at the offensive zone blue line by Brooklyn "Brawler" Bromley. Bromley stood the Rams forward up, stole the puck and slipped a nifty pass to Nesbitt who wouldn't be denied. The effort was there by all. Now off to Bayfield.
Sunday was a complete game by the Crusaders. The kids were ready today. Starting with solid goaltending by Rowdy Rowdy Hayden Piper and outstanding defence from the likes of Payton "ORR" Piper, Brooklyn "Brawler" Bromley, Maddie "Mad Dog" Hickling and Jeffery "The Great Wall" Baur, the offence felt comfortable to take some chances and let loose with 9 goals!!! Wesley "Pipes" Marks lead the way with 7 tallies with Everett "Happy Gilmore" Cherrey adding 2 goals to finish the scoring. Special mention to our AP player Connor " Little Moose" Kellington who had 2 assists in just his 3rd game and is looking more at ease with every shift. Also falling into place was Keenan Courtney, who looks to have found his place with Fleet and Marks on the forward line.
All in all a great weekend. Lots of fun and came away with a win.
