Peewee AE's Tie in Weekend Action
The Peewee AE team travelled to Listowel Memorial Arena Saturday afternoon to take on the Cyclones and came away with a tie.
The 1st period would almost remain scoreless with both teams battling hard when Listowel would open the scoring at 1:05 to take the lead.
Blyth Brussels would answer back in the 2nd with Josh Gibbons banking a shot off the opposing defenceman and fooling the Cyclone netminder, assist going to Wyatt Machan. The Cyclones would retake the lead 2 minutes later and hold it going to the dressing room.
The 3rd period would prove good for Machan as he would score from a sharp angle at the 5:31 mark unassisted and 2:15 later would net his 2nd assisted from Drew Van Wyk to give Blyth Brussels the lead for the 1st time this game. The boys fought hard but the Cyclones snuck one in with a little over a minute remaining to tie. The final minute would remain scoreless for a 3-3 tie keeping the teams undefeated streak intact.
Peewee AE next game, Friday night 7:30 in Brussels vs. the Mitchell Meteors.
