Peewee AE's Pull Out a Win in Brussels Home Opener
Blyth Brussels' quickness proved to be too much as the boys snuffed the Cyclones from Listowel.
Jarron Thompson stood steadfast between the pipes for Blyth Brussels keeping the game scoreless through the 1st period although the boys had ample opportunity to score but couldn't capitalize.
The 2nd was much the same until with 1:21 remaining in the 2nd, Jared Shearer bulged the twine on a sweet pass from Nolan Johnston to make it 1-0 going into the break.
The boys would come out flying to start the 3rd with Carson Richmond getting a shot on net and Avery McArter potting the rebound to go up 2-0. It would only take Listowel 14 seconds on their power play to bring the score within one at 10:31 in the third. Strong defense kept the Cyclones at bay until McArter nabbed his second at 2:51 remaining, picking up a rebound from a boomer from defenceman Josh Gibbons. Blyth/Brussels would hang on and skate away with a 3-1 win.
