OMHA Preliminary Round Underway
The Atom AE's started their 6 point series with Mt. Forest on Wednesday night.
Nick McArter got the start in net hoping to get the team off to a good start, however Mt. Forest had ideas of their own. At the 5:49 mark of the first period the Rams got on the board first to take a 1-0 lead to the end of the period. Blyth Brussels had good pressure at times but were unable to get any good scoring chances. With 3:58 left in the second period Mt. Forest was able to tally again and take a 2-0 lead to the third period. Blyth Brussels continued to have some chances, but with 8:16 to go in the game Mt. Forest scored to make the score 3-0. 3 minutes later after a goal mouth scramble Blyth Brussels was finally able to solve the Rams goalie. Tanner Boven jammed home a goal, assists went to Cole Zwep and Connor Brooks. The boys were beaten twice in the regular season by Mt. Forest with 3-0 and 3-1 scores so this game seemed to have a bit of deja vu. Game 2 will be Tuesday night at 6:30 in Brussels.
