Blyth Brussels Victorious over Goderich
Blyth Brussels travelled to Goderich on January 14, 2012. The first period saw the puck going end to end with many scoring opportunities for both teams. Cole Zwep made many great saves in net along with the strong defence of Ryan Jacklin, Kesler Jardin, Nick McArter, and Lucas Townsend.
Goderich was able to get one past and score in the first period with 4 minutes left in the period. Myles Johnston scored less than 2 minutes later assisted by Lucas Townsend to tie the game.
The second period again saw lots of back and forth action, and lots of scoring chances, but it was not until one minute left in the second did Wade Machan score unassisted. Goderich came out in the third scoring to tie the game. Nathan Brown scored to give Blyth Brussels the lead, assisted by Tanner Boven. Four minutes later Johnston netted another goal, assited by Nathan Brown to end the game with a 4-2 win. Connor Brooks played a very strong game as AP for the team.
The team was glad to see Ryan Jacklin back on the ice recovered from his broken wrist.
