Midget Rep Season Opener
On Sunday October 24th, the Midget Rep team travelled to Clifford for their season opener. This squad of players from both Blyth and Brussels applied pressure in the Clifford end right from the initial face off. With 5:06 left in the first, Clifford was first on the scoreboard. That would only fire up the visitors.
With 3:00 minutes left in the first, Blyth would even it up. Jeremy Ross would score the first goal of the season, with assists to Adam Cousins and Matt Popp.
Blyth never eased up on the pressure. 10 more goals were scored in the second with another 5 in the third. Clifford fought hard the entire game, but were no match for the Midget Dogs. Scoring in the 2nd and 3rd periods were Austin Sjaarda, John Lecomte (4), Matt Chalmers (2) Ross (2), Aaron Popp (2), Shea McLean (2), Kirby Cook and Jacob McGavin. Assists were awarded to Ross, McGavin (2), Chalmers (4), Lecomte (3), McLean (3), M. Popp (3), Adam Cronin (2), Cook, and Kody Higgins.
