Midget Rep Win Series vs. Lucknow
On Saturday, February 5th, the Blyth Midget Rep Bulldogs travelled to Lucknow for game 5 in the second round of OMHA playdowns. Right from the initial puck drop Blyth played to win. Their hard work paid off at 8:51 of the first when Austin Sjaarda lit up the scoreboard with assists from Zack Watson and Kirby Cook.
After much end to end action, Sjaarda would find the mark again at 10:30 of the second from Cook and Kody Higgins. 5 minutes later in the same period, Eric Dwyer and Shea McLean would get the puck to Adam Cousins who had nicely placed himself behind the Lucknow defence. Higgins, minutes later would give the visitors a 4 goal lead from passes from Ty Sebastian and John Lecomte.
Minutes into the 3rd, Adam Cronin would score an unassisted goal. Aaron Popp, less than a minute later would finish the scoring with the help from Cousins. Lucknow had many chances to score, but each time were foiled by the visitors strong defence and goaltending. Ryan Baker earned the shutout for the Dogs.
The Blyth Midget Bulldogs meet up next against Mildmay in the OMHA quarter finals.
