Round 2 ...tough battle ahead
If game one is any indication, round 2 of the OMHA playdowns is going to be a long tough battle. Lucknow Sepoys played host to the Blyth Midget Bulldogs on Monday, January 24th.
Blyth would open the scoring less than 5 minutes into the game with a goal by Kirby Cook, assisted by Adam Cronin and Matt Chalmers. Lucknow would answer back 3 minutes later. In the dying minutes of the first our Shea McLean would find the twine with help from Cronin. 19 seconds later the home team tied it up again.
Blyth would light up the scoreboard in the next frame, when McLean would get his second of the night from Cronin and Jacob McGavin, but minutes later our worthy opponents would do the same. The third period would see Lucknow get the go ahead goal. Then 30 seconds later the visitors would tie it up. McLean would get his third of the night from Austin Sjaarda and Matt Popp.
This exciting game for both sides seen both teams use their time-outs entering the overtime period. The Dogs were able to keep the Sepoy's at bay, finishing the game with a 4 all tie. Game 2 is Tuesday, Jan 25 in Brussels.
