Bantam Reps add 2 Wins and 2 Losses
The hockey schedule is now in full swing and the Bantam Reps saw 4 games in 8 days starting October 28th against Brussels.

Blyth travelled to Brussels October 28th and got off to an equal start against the home team. The first period resulted in a penalty each to both teams, but ended with no score for either side.  Brussels came out early in the second with 2 quick goals and finished up the period with one more.  Blyth added 2 more penalties. but remained scoreless after two. Brussels scored again early in the third, but Blyth showed some speed and determination in the final minutes of the game with Ryan Nesbitt, assisted by Rob Hoftyzer, getting Blyth on the board.  Defenseman, Rob Hoftyzer added Blyth's second goal, a shot from the red line that found the back of the Brussels net, with 13.4 seconds remaining in the third. Unfortunately the Blyth fury came too late and Blyth had to settle for the 4-2 loss.

The team travelled to Southampton October 30th.  Our boys came out fast and furious in the first showing good passing, but were unable to get past the home team goalie.  Blyth was rewarded halfway through the second with a great breakaway goal by Mike VanWyk.  Spencer Stevenson doubled the Blyth score assisted by Wyatt Carey and Rob Hoftyzer.  The third period was full of penalties on both sides but Southampton managed to get only one past Kennan MacDonald before the period came to an end with Blyth taking the 2-1 win.

Elma Logan travelled to Blyth November 1st and opened the scoring less than a minute into the game.  Blyth's Joel Pizzati, assisted by Mike VanWyk, netted one 5 minutes later.  Spencer Stevenson and Matt Van Wyk added Blyth's second goal, but Elma Logan responded by tying it up before the end of the first.

Elma Logan came out strong in the second and had a 5-2 lead halfway through the period.  Blyth just couldn't get any passes together that would result in scoring chances.  Despite alot of scoring opportunities and a stepped up physical play, Blyth just couldn't put any more in the opposing net.  Elma Logan would get one more in the third taking this game with a score of 6-2.

For the final game in this set, Blyth travelled to Howick.  Blyth had a very successful first period with Matt VanWyk getting the hat trick, Wes Thompson, Mike VanWyk, and Kyle Pollard building the score to 6-0 by the end of the first.  Blyth's Dalton Richmond would add another to the scoreboard in the second.  Howick spent most of the third period short handed due to 12 minutes of penalties, and Blyth continued their scoring with Nathan Plunkett, and Joel Pizzati (2) finishing up the third.  A thankful end came to the third period for the Howick squad and Kennan MacDonald had his first shut out of the season.  Blyth will host Howick this Monday, November 9th at 7:30pm.
