Bantam Bulldogs Off With a 2 and 1 Start
The Bantam Bulldogs start their season against Drayton.

The Bulldogs hosted Drayton for the first game of the year October 13th. Blyth played a good game for the first of the year. There was lots of checks and opportunities for both teams.  During the game Drayton would score the 1st goal of the game in the second period and add a 2nd shortly after. Drayton would increase the lead to 3 partway thru the 3rd before Bulldog, Wes Thompson, would score Blyth's only goal of the game with an assist going to Mike Van Wyk.  Final score: Drayton 3 - Blyth 1.

On October 19th the Dogs travelled to Ripley to face the home team.  Blyth's, Ryan Nesbitt, would open the scoring in the first with help from Spencer Stevenson.  On the next faceoff Matt Van Wyk would score with help again from Stevenson.  Ripley would get one past Goalie Kennan MacDonald, and then Mike Van Wyk would score his first of the game with an assist to Nathan Plunkett.  The second period saw both teams score a pair of goals, Wyatt Carey, and Spencer Stevenson would both score with assists going to Van Wyk and Plunkett.  The third period saw Blyth's, Mike Van Wyk score 2 more with assist's going to Plunkett and Rob Gordon. Final score:  Blyth 7 - Ripley 4.

Game 3 of the season saw Blyth host the BCH AE team on October 21st.  Blyth opened the scoring in the first with Spencer Stevenson knocking one home from Matt Van Wyk, and then Joel Pizzati scoring his first on a great shot with help from Mike Van Wyk, Van Wyk would complete Blyth's first period scoring with an unassisted goal. BCH would add one for them late in the first.  Both teams would be held of the scoreboard in the second.  The third period would see the teams exchange 3 goals apiece.  Blyth scorer's would be Mike Van Wyk with 2, and Matt Van Wyk with 1.  Assists going to Braydon Whitfield.  Each team would also pick up 4 penalties each during the game.  Final score:  Blyth 6 - BCH AE 4.  

Blyth travels to Brussels to play the Bulls October 28th @ 9:00 pm for the next game.
