Bantam's OMHA Playdowns Come To An End...
On Thursday Feb. 8th, Blyth hosted Drayton for game three of a best of five series of the W.O.A.A final. At this point Blyth was down two games.
It only took Blyth three minutes to get on the board with the power play marker scored by Austin Sjaarda assisted by Adam Cronin and Tyler Stevenson. However, six minutes later Drayton struck back with one of their own. After period one score was tied at 1-1. Drayton would eventually take the lead late in the second period with a power play goal. Entering the third period Blyth came out flying out playing Drayton. The tieing goal for Blyth was scored by Stevenson assisted by Cronin and Tyler Black. Blyth continued to put the pressure on Drayton but were unsuccessful and the game was turned over to overtime. With some tuff luck, Drayton’s captain fired a slap shot that got by all members of the Blyth team and found the back of the net, giving Drayton a 3-2 win in overtime, and the series.
