Play offs/downs have begun....
February 11th the BBMHA Crusaders midget LL team traveled to Wingham for their first game of our round robin series.  A good team attendance and positive attitude started out a near win game.  The final score was 4  to 3 for the Wingham Ironmen.  A very close match.

All the boys can be commended for doing their best to keep penalty minutes down to a minimum.  I say best, even when a couple get their next game "off".  From the stands it was truly a trial for these boys to keep their anger in check after a couple of their buddies seemed to be on the receiving end of negative play.  When you have an ice surface of teenage boys and inaccurate penalty calling, it can get out of control really quickly.  This is what happened in the third period.  BBMHA seemed to keep it together for the last part of the second period, but couldn't let their teammates and friends be the bullied.

Our goalie, Jarron Thompson, once again didn't disappoint.  He made numerous saves and kept the puck out of our net more times than Wingham wanted.  Our first two goals were scored in the first period.  Connor Bridge with the goal and Jeff Gordon with the assist started off our points.  Only five minutes later Logan Finlayson played the puck alone to give us our middle goal.  Half way through the second period, just when moods were getting low, Jared Shearer and Lucas Townsend passed the puck together with the final pass to Brett Glousher for our third point.  This is exactly what the team needed!!

Overall it was a game that allowed our boys to come closer together as a team, stand up for each other and be prepared for whatever comes next.  We can't change the past, but maybe take what we have learned and play better next time.

Our next game is in fact against Wingham in Brussels on February 17th.  Time to move onward and upward.

Good luck team!!!
