Chalk one up the WIN side!!!!
Thursday March 30th, the TCDMHA Rebels, midget LL team traveled to Blyth for the first of 2 games in the final round of our playoffs.  Having never played against each other in regular season, neither team knew what to expect.

Scoring started off early with the Rebels slipping one past our goalie...Trevor DeCorte.  It would be the only goal that team could get past "The Wall".  As a team member on the bench I worry that an early goal against us can change the mood for the entire game.  With some positive words that would not be the case.

The BBMHA Crusaders came back in the first period with a goal by Brett Glousher who takes the credit alone.  This was the energy that started the momentum for a great game of hockey.  Not to be left behind, Logan Finlayson, in the second period, took the chance on a break away, short handed opportunity and found the few empty holes left by the Rebel's goalie.  With less than a minute in play we had a single goal lead and a sign of breathing easy could be heard by the coaching staff.  Time for the ice to flood and a well needed break for both teams.

Strategy for the last period was to keep up the momentum, stay out of the penalty box and continue working as a team.  A strategy that seemed to work, no penalty minutes were logged for this period, Trevor continued to stop the puck and Brett Glousher added yet another goal to his stats.  Connor Bridge passed that puck to Brett for a another example of team work.

What a game!!  That is the best way I can explain it.  The Crusaders found their groove and made it work.  Jared Shearer, Drew Van Wyk and Trevor DeCorte had already played 4 games of hockey that day with their high school hockey team.  Trevor hasn't been in net for most of the season with the Crusaders and showed his true talent for this game.  All of these boys deserved a "pat on the back", their effort and heart was in this game and we are very proud of their performance.  Game 2 and the final match is Thursday March 31, at 7:30 pm in Chatsworth.  Keep on eye here for the outcome!!
