Nothing short of great skating and awesome goal tending!!
It was cold Friday night and the members, with family, drove to Mt. Forest for a game on their home ice. Like a parade of pride the boys dressed and discussed who was going to play where and with whom. A lot of these these players are in the middle of exams, so numbers were lower.
Few on the bench does not seem to discourage this team. In fact I think they play smarter and harder. Two lines of forward and three defense-man shared in the work at this game.
Jarron Thompson was nothing short of amazing. He was always keeping an eye on the puck, sliding from one side of the net to the next and closing up the gap of the five hole position. I felt he was the hero that kept the rest of the team focused. Great work Jarron!!
Both of BBMHA goals were scored by Logan Finlayson. The first was a short handed breakaway that seen Logan at the right place to move a bouncing puck away from the Mt. Forest defense and found the top corner. A majority of the game had us tied with the Rams, until 1:08 minutes left in the third, when they scored to make it a 2 to 1 match. But never give up, Jared Shearer and Brett Glousher passed to Logan for his second goal at 51.3 seconds left...taking us back to a tie situation. The fans and bench were ecstatic, it just proves that a game is never over until the final buzzer rings.
Another great match played by these boys. After the game, Coach Drew provided that pizza he promised. Once again the boys seemed pleased with their game and look forward to the next challenge.
Playoffs are around the corner, we hope to keep up this streak.
