Howson Mills Bantam Rep Crusaders begin OMHA playoffs
The bantam rep Crusaders opened the first round of their OMHA playoffs against the Seaforth Stars on 10 January 2016 at the Brussels arena.
The Crusaders came out flying in the first period, but were unable to get any quality shots on the Seaforth goalie.
The Crusaders started the second period little flat, spotting the Stars a 2 goal lead at the beginning of the period, but the Crusaders didn't give up. An unassisted goal by Bailey Bos brought the Crusaders within one, and with 8.7 seconds left in the period, Bos scored another unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2.
The third period was a penalty filled affair and the Crusaders were able to score a power play goal on a hard shot from the point by Ryan Jacklin. Mason Weber, who won the faceoff back to Jacklin, got the only assist.
The Crusaders held the lead until 2 minutes left when Seaforth was able to tie the game and send it to overtime.
The Crusaders played hard to start the 10 minute, sudden death, overtime period, carrying the play to the Stars, but the Stars were able to get a man in behind the Crusader defence, and Seaforth won on a breakaway goal.
