Howson Mills Bantam Reps tie Kincardine Kinucks
Despite being outshot 44-18, and playing with a short bench, the Howson Mills Bantam Reps were able to tie the Kincardine Kinucks 2-2 in Friday night action.
The Crusaders hit the ice flying, controlling the play and giving the Kincardine team all they could handle.
Colin Howson opened the scoring for the Crusaders with a nice shot of the point. Assist went to Jacob Roth.
Kincardine entered the third period with a 2-1 lead, having scored a couple of power play goals, but the Crusaders didn't give up. Some timely saves by goalie Spencer Lazarevich, kept the Crusaders in the game.
The Crusaders tied the game late in the third period on a goal by Cole Zwep. Bailey Bos fought for the puck in the corner against two Kinuck players. Bos was the more determined player and was able to feed a pass in front to Zwep who was able to knock the puck home for the tying goal.
The Crusaders got in to some penalty trouble late in the game, but good defensive work by Ryan Jacklin and Mitch McNichol help preserve the tie.
