Blyth Midget LL on a Streak!!
The Midget LL have come out of their slump and are on a three game winning streak.

March 1st brought our Bulldogs up against Drayton.  The first meeting of the two teams ended in a 3-0 win for Drayton, but someone let the Dogs out, and their second meeting ended in a 4-3 victory for Blyth.  Scoring in this game came from Ryan Sjaarda, assisted by Austin Sjaarda; an unassisted goal from Brad Greidanus; Mike McDowell, assisted by Austin Sjaarda; and an unassisted OT goal by Brad Greidanus. In the net, and as always giving his team the talent and agility he holds as a goaltender, was Tyson Sjaarda.

Next the team took on the Milverton Drives.  Once again, their first meeting ended in a loss for Blyth, but that did not stop the Bulldogs from coming out strong and winning their next match in Milverton.  Scoring in this game, in the 1st were Jonathan Atkinson, assisted by John Lecomte; Austin Sjaarda, assists by Ryan Sjaarda and Brad Greidanus; Jordan Bakelaar, assists by Matt Popp and Jonathan Atkinson; and Austin Sjaarda, assisted by Brad Greidanus.  In the 2nd, Aaron Popp, assists from Matt Popp and Mike McDowell; and Mike McDowell, assisted by Brad Greidanus.  In the net, and playing an awesome game between the pipes, was Alec Lorentz.

March 15 your Dogs faced the Wingham squad.  Their last meeting ended in a 2-2 tie, but this would not be the case in this match.

Ten minutes into the first period, Ryan Sjaarda, assisted by Mike McDowell, put the first puck into the net.  There would be no more scoring in the first period.  Only one minute into the second period, Wingham tied the score.  It didn't take long for Blyth to muster up 3 more
goals - the first scored by Lucas Cooke, assists by Mike McDowell and John Lecomte; the second goal was perfectly placed by Austin Sjaarda, assisted by Matt Popp; then Lucas Cooke scored with assists from John Lecomte and Andrew Hess.  With the score now Blyth 4 and Wingham 1, the Wingham squad came back with three quick goals.  The Dogs were not going to give up, and Jonathan Atkinson managed to score one more with the help of Lucas Cooke and John Lecomte with 28 seconds remaining in the period.

Two minutes into the third period, Wingham managed to put the puck past Tyson Sjaarda leaving the game tied once again.  There was tension in the air for the next ten minutes.  Out of nowhere, John Lecomte picked up a pass from Dana Teed and skated the length of the ice to score the winning goal of the game.

Your Midget LL play the Lucknow squad next, let's hope their winning streak continues.

This team has been playing awesome hockey, and the teamwork they have been exhibiting has made for exciting hockey for their many fans to watch.  "GO DOGS GO"
