Blyth Peewee Rep Come Out Strong in First Playoff Game
Blyth's first round of playoffs is against Elma Logan. Game 1 on January 14th took place on Blyth's home ice.

Elma Logan started the scoring off just 20 seconds into the game. But, that would be the last time that any shots got past Blyth's goalie, Dalton Carey. The rest of the game was dominated by the Dogs. The first period had the Dogs scoring 6 goals. Goals were awarded to Trystan Weber, Dustin Pennington, Arden Coultes with 2, Spencer Stevenson and Mike VanWyk. Assists went to Mike VanWyk, Stevenson with 2, Coultes with 3, and Pennington with 2.

The Dogs kept the pressure on in period 2, when Mike VanWyk scored 2 wrap-around goals with help from Ryan Nesbitt and Matt VanWyk. Braydon Whitfield resembled Wayne Gretzky as he deeked several Elma Logan players to score an unassisted short-handed goal. At the end of the second period Blyth was up 9-1.

Period three added one more to Blyth's side of the score sheet. Trystan Weber scored the final goal of the game with help from Matt VanWyk and Conner Rodger.

Game 2 is scheduled for tonight in Monkton at 6:30 PM. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, January 17 at 1:00 PM.

Come out and support the dogs.
