On December 31, 2008 Blyth headed to Kincardine to play in the Regional Silver Stick finals against Seaforth.
The first period started off with lots of chances at both ends of the rink. Seaforth was able to get on the scoreboard with 6:20 left in the first. During the second period Seaforth was able to get four more goals. Blyth did not give up and played hard. With a flood between the second and third the dogs headed to the change room for a quick pep talk.
Coming out in the third Blyth played hard and never gave up. Blyth's hard play and never give up attitude kept Seaforth off the game sheet for the third period. A solid performance in net by Blyth's goaltender, Dalton Carey. The game ended with Seaforth winning 5-0.
Blyth was awarded their medals and banner as Finalists. Spencer Stevenson was awarded game MVP for Blyth. What a great tournament - the boys played hard and had fun, and we came home with a nice banner.
We now head to Lucan this Friday, January 2nd, to play exhibition games against Lucan and West London.
