Atom Girls Edge Mount Forest
Brussels was the site of the home game against Mount Forest on Saturday, November 8th. Mount Forest started out strong not allowing the home team to clear the puck from their end. With just over 2 minutes into the game, Blyth-Brussels would get their chance.
Morgan Howson would get the rubber past the Mount Forest netminder on an assist from Faith Sebastian. The home team was fired up. Blyth-Brussels would continue to pressure their opponent with another goal before the first was over. Emma Strome would score, with an assist from Sebastian.
Less than a minute into the second, the Atom girls hit the mark again, this time with a goal from Tiffany Dietner, assisted by Sydney Michie. Before the second was over, Mount Forest would sneak one in.
In the third the crowd was entertained with as much action as there was in the first two periods. Dietner would score an unassisted goal at 10:39 to open the scoring in the third. 2 1/2 minutes later the Atom girls scored again, this time with an unassisted goal from Kathryn Chalmers. Mount Forest would not give up and scored twice in the last frame.
Blyth-Brussels would end the game victorious, 5-3. The three stars of this game were Carlie Ducharme, Teresa Atkinson and Shelby Higgins.
