Novice Rep In Elma Logan Tournament
On Friday night Blyth played Plattsville in their first game of the tournament. Blyth had hard time getting to the net in this game with few shots on the Platsville goaile. Final score was 4-0 loss to Plattsville.

Early the next morning we were back in Monkton to play the host team Elma Logan. This game saw several chances for both teams with both goalies making great saves. Blyth finally opened the scoring in the third with a goal from Drew VanWyk assisted by Jared Shearer and Bailey Bos. Elma Logan tied it 2 minutes later. Elma Logan then took the lead with only 2:28 remaining in the game. Blyth applied the pressure but couldn't find the net to tie it again. Elma Logan then capitalized on a chance of their own to increase the lead by 2. The Blyth team seemed deflated and Elma Logan didn't quit and scored another to finish the game with a 4-1 win.

Blyth had return to Monkton on Saturday afternoon to play their third and final game of the tournament against the team from Brussels. The coaches encouraged the team to keep playing as hard as they could and try to the best of their abilities. Blyth came out to open the scoring in the first just a minute into the game by Parker Gibbings, unassisted. Brussels answered right back with one of their own. Brussels then scored another at the end of the first to take the lead. Blyth's Jared Shearer then tucked one in after a mad scramble in the crease to tie the game at 2. Once again Brussels would score to take the lead. This was all Brussels needed as there wasn't any more scoring to be had. Blyth played a great game, having several chances and just missing the net quite a few times. The coaches were happy with the way they competed today.
