Atoms attend Elma Logan Tourney
The Atom Rep team began the 3 game tourney on Friday night. The first game was against Cayuga, a very quick skating and strong shooting club. The next morning the boys would have to be bright eyed and bushy-tailed to take on the host club Elma Logan, the third game would be against the ever so aggressive Milverton team.
Friday night's game ended in a 5-1 loss to the very strong skating and puck handling Cayuga team. Saturday morning would be a different story for our boys! They all got out of bed to win! Scoring in the first period was Drew Bromley assisted by Curtis Raynard. The second goal was scored by Curtis Raynard and assisted by Arden Coultes. Another 2 goals would come in the second period being scored by our captain Dustin Pennington and the second by Hunter Dale, assisted by Arden Coultes and Curtis Raynard. The whole team put forth a great effort.
The third, and what would be our final game in the tourney, was played Sat afternoon against the ever so aggressive Milverton team. The boys did a great job keeping the score to only 3, all of which were scored in the first period. The next two periods saw the majority of play in the neutral zone, the boys found out how to kill penalties as 3 separate penalties were killed off. The boys in burgundy will be ready when they play them on home ice on the 10th.
The Atom rep team even though not making it to Sunday's finals had a great weekend and a good experience at the Elma Logan Tournament. The staff of Elma Logan need to be commended on a tournament very well run . All the players and family members had fun trying to win prizes off the prize table.
