Peewee Girls Play 4 Games in 10 Days
The team added a win, a tie and 2 losses to their record.    They have a 5-6-1 record heading into tonight’s game in Durham.

On Friday, Dec 10th the team made the long trip to Honeywood and came home with a 6-1 win.   Emily Mitchell scored an unassisted goal in the first. Teresa Atkinson and Samantha Kerr each netted a goal in the second.   Assists went to Kaily Wheeler and Morgan Howson. Sydney Wightman scored twice in the third and Teresa Atkinson scored her second goal of the game, to give us the win.

On Saturday, Dec 11th the girls played in Normanby and suffered a disappointing loss of 3-2. Kathryn Chalmers and Wheeler managed to get one past the goalie in the 2nd period. Assists went to Ashley Stevenson and Wightman. With the game tied at 2, the Normanby team scored with 5 minutes left in the third, to put them ahead by one. This was a thrilling game to watch, right to the final minutes. The coaching staff commended the girls on a hard fought game.

On Thursday, Dec 16th the team made the drive to Owen Sound for a 6:45 pm game. With the Owen Sound Ice Hawks up by a score of 2-0, the Blyth girls rallied and tied the game in the third period. Wightman scored twice with assists going to Mitchell, Faith Sebastian and Tiffany Deitner. The girls played a great game and came home with a tie against a team they are battling against in the WOAA standings.   Way to go girls!

On Sunday, Dec 19th we hosted Markdale and suffered another loss of 2-0. Even with a record number of shots on their net, our girls simply couldn’t get one past their goalie. With our goalie pulled in the last two minutes of the game, Markdale netted their second goal. Our own goalie, Chasity Caesar, kept us in the game but we just couldn’t get on the scoreboard. The squad have a well deserved rest this Christmas holiday weekend but are looking forward to the Milverton Tournament next week.
