The Big Day Finally Arrived.
The big day has finally arrived and the Blyth Bulldog Mites took to the ice on Saturday for their very first game of the year!
The whole mite team arrived bright and early Saturday morning at 0930 to take on the Moncton Mites. There was huge excitement in the stands and on the bench as the youngest of the Blyth Dogs took to the ice. With Coach Tim on the ice positioning everyone, the play began with some fast skating by both teams with Moncton taking the lead with the first goal. The Blyth kids didn't quit, they persevered through the Moncton players and met with a scramble to the left of the Moncton net ending with a pass from Alex Coultes to Dakota Coultes who put the puck in the net. WOW our first GOAL! Moncton would then score a couple on us. AlexCoultes skating hard with his wingers JoshNixon and Dakota Coultes making their way to Monctons end with players being upended, keeping tough, Alex taking a pass from Josh popped the puck into the left corner of the net. Blyth's defense holding strong but infant in experience kept skating hard. The whole Blyth bench were working hard on the ice falling and getting up like they needed to. There would be another scramble at Monctons net but Mason Weber would be robbed of a goal not once but twice by the Moncton goaltender. Blyth would then score another goal by Dakota Coultes bringing the score to 3for the DOGS and 4 for Moncton. Coach Tim Coultes was pleased with the performance of all of his players. The next game will be against Wingham on Dec.22/07 at 0930. See you all there!
