Atom Girls Finish Provincial Playdowns
The Blyth girls failed to qualify for further play after their three round robin games.
The team opened with a 1-1 tie with Stratford. The team then visited Milverton and would also have a close game. Milverton opened the scoring in the first period. Amy Boyce scored a pair of goals in the second for Blyth. Assists went to Sydney Michie and Leanne Plunkett. Blyth took the 2 - 1 lead into the third period. Milverton applied the pressure and would get 2 goals a minute apart in the final period and then hung on for the victory.
The final game was against a very good Seaforth team that would go on to win the division. Blyth held the visitors to a 3-0 advantage after 2 periods. Blyth would surrender 3 more goals late and lost by a 6-0 margin.
