Atom Girls Start Season With A Win
The atom girls started their season with a solid 8 - 3 win against Mount Forest. It was the first loss for the Mount Forest squad in their 3rd game of the season.
The girls charged out to a 4 - 0 lead at the end of the first period on 3 goals from Ashley Higgins and a single from Mackenzie Nesbitt. Higgins scored 2 more early in the second period six seconds apart, before Mount Forest replied with one of their own. The second period closed with each team adding one more to their total, with Nesbitt scoring Blyth's goal. Higgins netted her 6th of the game in the final period and Mount Forest closed out the scoring late in the game.
It was a solid effort for Brooke Middegaal and Sydney Michie playing in their first hockey game. Assists on the day went to Morgan Howson, Sydney Michie, Amy Boyce and Ashley Higgins.
