Peewee Local Takes B Championship
It was a dark, rainy Sunday morning. With the hydro being off through the night, all players and coaches travelled to Walkerton, to play their first tournament. The first game was at 9:00 against Mildmay. Nobody was quite awake yet and the game was lost with Mildmay 4 - Blyth 0. Not to fear this put the dogs into the B side.
After a long wait 3:00 was the next game. The dogs came on strong against TCDMHA. Final score being Blyth 6 - TCDMHA 0. Scoring for Blyth was Craig Raynard with one, Colton Rodger with one, Brett Glousher (our Gretzsky) one, Jefferson Gordon with one. Then our goalie decided he was going to have a photo shoot with the photographer, which didn't last long. After this Owen Weber and Owen Andrews scored a goal apiece. Great game boys and what a way to bring some excitement to the game.
This brought the boys to the final game of the B side of the tournament against Listowel. Final score Blyth 2, Listowel 0. Scoring this game ironfist where Patrick Franken and Gavin Workman.
This team has really come together and learned the true meaning of hockey. Make friends, have fun, and play the game. It's not all about body checking at this level. Even passing the puck to one another will get the job done.
