Lucknow Legion Tournament
On behalf of the Peewee Rep team we would like to thank the Lucknow community, and Legion for putting on this tournament and allowing our kids to participate in.  The parents appreciated the meal provided for the kids (as did the kids).

Well, our tournament started off at 10:00 am vs. South Huron better known to us as Exeter.  The game had no score until 7 minutes in.  Ryan Plunkett got a flutter shot past the goalie, with the assists coming form Arden Coultes and Dustin Pennington.  Shortly after that Exeter tied it up.  Early in the 2nd Dustin Pennington put us ahead once again.  Then Exeter with 2 minutes remaining in the 2nd, tied it up again.  With lots of shots in the 3rd it was still tied, with 18.2 seconds left on the score board Dustin took the stress off of the bench staff and the fans in the stands.  Allowing them to earn a spot in the "A division" for the games to follow.  (Final score 3-2)  A couple of our team members had to sit the next game - Quinton Sjaarda for taking a hitting from behind penalty, and Curtis Raynard due to an injury.

Our next game was played at 3:00 pm vs. Mitchell to put us either out of the tournament, or to play for "A champs".  We had a slow start before getting anything up on the board until 6.07 in the 2nd period allowing us to get one.  Dustin P., Jeremy Grisdale, and Jordon had to work hard to get it.  In the 3rd period the boys kept us on the edge of our cold seats with only 3.37 seconds left, Dustin once again allowed us to relax a little with the pass from Josh Van Soest.  Still knowing that the game was far from over, Dustin determined to get a hat trick, sneaked another in thanks to Justin Rodger and Jordon Hubbard.  Thinking the game was over Josh proved us wrong again with only 0.22 seconds left in the game, assists going to Justin Rodger and Dallas Coultes. (Final score 4-0).  This gave us the go ahead to play for the A championship trophy.  Quinton came back to play in the last game, but Curtis sat and cheered from the stands.

Feeling very honoured to be playing for the "A" title, we fell short to Kincardine.  We played hard right up till the end, but were unable to get the puck rolling and with Kincardine playing a very tight defensive game, we were unable to get anywhere close to their goalie.  Holding their heads up high the Peewee's came home knowing they worked hard to be the "A" runners up.  Congratulations to everyone for a job well done.  (Final score 5-0) We are all very proud of you, and you all should be too!
