Novice WIN Elma Logan Tournament!
Blyth Novice Bulldogs bring home the championship skating to a 5-2 victory over Thamesford.
Blyth played the host team Elma Logan on Friday night and came away with a 5-2 victory. Scoring for Blyth, Cody Treble and Brenden Howson with 2 goals a piece, Dawson Coultes with one. Assists - Chad Treble with 3 and singles going to Owen Andrews, Jacob Coultes and Colton Rodger. The second game the kids were out-skated by the Thamesford losing 7-3 , Cody Treble, Brenden and Morgan Howson completed the scoring, Chad Treble, Colton Rodger and Jacob Coultes assisting. With their backs against the wall a win was needed against Plattsville to move to the finals Sunday against Thamesford. A solid efford was put forth by all 14 players who came away with a 7-3 victory, Blyth goal scorers were Cody Treble 3, Dawson Coultes and Chad Treble with 2 each, assisting Brenden Howson 3 , Colton Rodger and Dawson Coultes with 1. Once again the kids played to their potential winning 5-2 bringing home the championship trophy. Chad Treble led the scoring with 3 goals, and singles going to Brenden Howson and Cody Treble. Single assists Chad Treble, Brenden Howson,Colton Rodger, Owen Andrews,and Dawson Coultes. The defence core of Samantha Kerr, Jeff Gordon, Gavin Workman, Craig Raynard, Jeremy Wilts and Jacob Coultes played strong defensively stopping the opposition from scoring on Frankilin Marshall who was solid between the pipes. First year player Cameron Gauthier skated up and down the wing helping his line-mates in both ends of the rink. Saturday the Novice travel to Zurich for a 3 pm start.
