PeeWee Girls, U13, 2007-2008 (Blyth Brussels Minor Hockey)

The WOAA Pee Wee girls year end tournament was held in Blyth from Thursday, March 27 until Sunday, March 31, 2008. With 22 teams in 3 divisions, the arenas in Blyth and Wingham on Saturday were busy with teams vying for their respective championships.

Girl’s Hockey is relatively new to Blyth Minor Hockey with 2004-05 being the inaugural season icing an Atom Girl’s team. On Friday, March 7, 2008 Blyth Girl’s Hockey will achieve another first by participating in the Goderich Lion’s Club 59th Annual Young Canada Week PeeWee Tournament.

The Pee Wee Girls opened their season at home with an exhibition game against Goderich. The Blyth girls opened the score in the first minute of play when Jordan T. put one in the net assisted by Kayla D. It was Goderich scoring the next two in the first period but Blyth came back in the second as Jordan T. netted another one with the assist going to Jordyn S. Heading into the third period all tied up, Goderich moved ahead in the last 5 minutes of play but Jordan T. once again scored on the opposing team giving her a hat trick for the night.
