The Midget AE Crusaders were down 2 games to none in the final series for the OMHA. It seemed like déjà vu all over again.
With the series coming back to Blyth this past Saturday and a very confident Caledonia Thunder looking for the sweep the Crusaders did what they do best and they came back with a win on home ice.
Game three of the series was played in Blyth on Saturday. The Caledonia Thunder brought a bus for the players and a bus for the fans. I think they underestimated our Crusaders. The Crusaders Brandon Marshall scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Josh Vansoest. Caledonia game back with a goal 5 minutes later to end the scoring in the first. The Crusaders came out in the second and got a quick goal by Marshall with assistance from Vansoest. Within three minutes Caledonia came back to tie it up at 2. The third and final goal for the period was scored by Vansoest with assistance from Dalen Martin and Justin Rodger.
Up by one goal going into the third Caldonia scored early in the period to tie it up. Marshall scored his third goal of the game with assistance by Vansoest and Connor Rodger. With 6 minutes left and after the hats had been cleared off the ice the Crusaders held them off for a 4-3 win.
