Atom Girls Advance to Provincials
The Blyth-Brussels atom girls took top spot in the Huron-Perth group of the OWHA provincial playdowns to secure a berth in the Provincial Championships.  The team played Milverton and Stratford in a home and away round robin.

The team opened with a 4 - 1 win against Milverton and then played Stratford in back to back games and won by scores of 4 - 2 and 5 - 0.  Since, Stratford and Milverton had split their games with each other, that meant that our girls had already clinched top spot.  With regular goalie, Julia Beaven watching from the stands with an injured arm, Samantha Kerr stepped up to fill in.  She allowed only 2 goals, but the offence was unable to get going and the team went on to lose the game 2 - 0.  The overall record of 3 wins and 1 loss was good for first place ahead of Milverton with an even record of 2 wins and 2 losses.

The atom C portion of the OWHA championship takes place in Newmarket at the 4 ice pad Magna Centre on April 9,10 and 11th.  The team is in a 4 team pool and plays 3 round robin games.  Their opponents are the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds, Belleville Bearcats and the Orangeville Tigers.  The top 2 teams in each pool advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.

Keep up the good work girls and good luck at the Provincials !
