Mitchell Tournament...Game #3
The Crusaders have once again proven themselves.  They skated hard, worked as a team and passed the puck like true pros.

Scoring started very early in the first period after 35 seconds of play.  Kurtis Marks and Conner Dale worked hard in the corner and eventually got it out in the open for Jake Bromley.  It was than Jake found the open part of the net.  Goal #1.  The rest of the period was spent shooting and passing.  With only 1:20 left to play, Luke Fisher sent the puck to Jackson Hallahan who moved it on to Brett McCutcheon.  Brett turned the direction of that puck, wrapped it around himself and found the far corner of the net for the second goal of the match.

Second period was a busy time.  It started at only 11 seconds into the period when Carson Bromley and Kurtis Marks opened the passing by getting the puck back to the blue line.  At that area Jake Bromley wound up his shooting arm for a clean shot into the five hole of the goalie.  It was a fast goal, hard for any net minder.  Only 5 minutes later Luke Fisher, one of our AP players, stayed patient in front of the net when a loose puck made it's way out for Luke to guide it up and over the goalie's shoulder.  The 5th goal was team work of assistants Connor Dale and Luke Fisher who worked a rebound out for Jake to get his third and hat trick goal of the game.  Time to hit up the coach for new hat Jake!!!  Patience is a virtue.  Not to be outdone or left out, Shea Cox moved the puck over to Luke who than moved it on to Brett.  Brett found the 5 hole opening and passed the puck to the mesh.  This would end the action thus far.

The third period was more of time of team work and working defense.  Halfway through Carson Bromley worked the puck alone and gave his team the last and seventh goal of the match.

Special mention goes out to our team of defense, Bryce Shortreed and Thymen VanderPloeg.  They never let a breakaway get to close to TJ Groves, or a shot get too close to the net.  Both players skated hard, kept the puck in the offensive end and worked at passing to the forwards for shots on net.  Once again proving that every player is crucial to this team sport.

We are moving on to the division finals at 7:55 pm in Mitchell.  Good Luck Team!!!
