Local Towns with Local Talent....
The PeeWee Rep Crusaders traveled to Seaforth for a match against the PeeWee Local League Stars.  It proved to be a good match.

No player could be caught slacking, this game was one of speed and talent.  Both teams had to keep their heads up and sticks on the ice.

Scoring started very early in the first with Seaforth showing their muscle and taking a shot that our TJ Groves worked hard to try and save.  No problem, because the Crusaders took only a few more minutes and they too got a point on the scoreboard.  Jake Bromley opened the skating with a pass to Carson Bromley who carried the puck half way down the ice and found a hole above the blocker side of the opposition's goalie.  Great work boys!  This first period seen many shots and a great penalty kill by our team.

The second period was one of team meshing as the AP players who came out to help showed more of their hockey talent.  Jake Fisher, Bo Wharton, Taylor Wharton and Landyn Hallahan put on the PeeWee size jerseys and gave the crowd some good hockey to watch.  We had a great penalty kill when our team was able to get a couple good shots on the Star's net.  It was a time for old and new players to mesh.

After an ice flood and rest for both teams the Crusaders continued passing when approximately half way through we scored our second goal.  Carson watched for the open player and saw Bo ready for the pass.  It worked as he stole the puck back from the Star's defense, stick handled to the net and went glove side for a connection to the mesh. This fire kept burning as Bo, Connor Dale and Ava Strome continued to have great shots on net.  Connor was able to manage a great breakaway only to have it snuffed out by the goalie.  Great skating!

It was a good game to watch as both teams showed great talent.  Thank you to the AP players, and their parents of course,  for their dedication and hard work.  It is nice to see all age groups of players work together and learn from each other.

We are traveling to Mitchell this weekend for our first tournament.  Good luck Crusaders!!!
