First game of 3 in a row...
Saturday February 25th we hosted the Mount Forest Rams in Brussels. This isn't a new team for us in the play offs, but never let history dictate the future.
Our Crusaders did come away with a win after a 4 to 2 victory. Scoring started in the last third part of the first period with Carson Richmond getting the goal. Avery McArter and Connor Bridge assisted in this initial point.
The second period started out scoring at 13:05 with a point for Jeff Gordon and an assist each for Finner and Dommer. It is great to have our AP player on the game sheet. With only 4:21 left in this period, Drew Van Wyk skated from defense in our end to find the mesh and give himself another point on the roster.
After the ice was flooded and both teams took a much needed break, our Crusaders came out strong giving us our last goal of the game. Finner captured the puck and using his master puck handling skills gave himself and his team their fourth goal.
Both teams found this game well played but a little harder to stay out of the penalty box. I can't even say that either team was rough or out of line, just some interesting reffing. It is hard for teenage boys to sometimes forget that this is just a game when the pressure is on to win, but I feel both teams did a great job at keeping it manageable.
Our next game is against the Rams on their home ice. It will be another good game.
