Second game, first win....
We traveled to Wiarton for our first match against Bruce Peninsula #1. This game could have ended with either team victorious, the play was very even.
Scoring for our team started at 10:44 in the first period with Logan Finlayson, Finner, scoring after a pass from Jeff Gordon. Only 43 seconds later Avery McArter picked up a pass from Finner to give us our second point and last of the period.
It took half the second period for our third point, but Drew Van Wyk took it under control to score lone handed. At this point in the game we are only one goal up as the opposition has come back in the first to also score 2 goals. Like I said, this game was a back and forth competition.
Early in the third period Jeff took a pass from Carson Richmond to give us 2 goals up on the scoreboard. Approximately 10 minutes later Jacob Roth also took a nice pass from Carson, giving us the game winning point we needed. It came with 3:38 minutes left in the game. Time for these boys to play smart and run down the clock and that is exactly what they did.
It was a great game of hockey, both teams worked hard and we look forward to another match with these boys.
Playoffs are under way...we invite you all to come out and cheer on this team. Sam can't do it all....lol!!!! Keep up the enthusiasm Sam :)
