Busy, Busy Weekend
After a tough home loss to the Mount Forest Rams the Crusaders are set for a busy weekend. The loss to the Rams did have a silver lining as The Great Wall of Bauer (Jeffery) potted his first goal in a game of hockey. The hard working always smiling Jeffery brought the crowd to their feet, screaming and cheering. I haven't heard anything that loud since Joe Carter's walk off home run against the Phillies in the 93 World Series. After the game the smile could not have been wiped off his face with a shovel. Hard work always pays off. Proud of you Jeffery.

On Saturday February 4th, the Crusaders ventured down County Road 25 to Monkton to play the hard working Milverton/Monkton Tyke squad. End to end action, timely saves by both goaltenders and strong defensive zone coverage lead to a very entertaining 2-2 tie. Seems like a perfect score for two equally talented teams. Before the game the kids of the Crusaders reminded the Head Coach that they are there to have fun and it doesn't matter if we win or lose. Well done kids. Will the Thrill Nesbit was the spokes person. A true leader. Thank you Will!!!
Tomorrow the 5th we are in a tournament in Arthur, playing 3 games. We all are looking forward to a fun filled day. A reminder to dress appropriately as we are representing Blyth/Brussels and are invited guests for the day. Bed early and pack your listening ears in the hockey bag too.
