A little set back....
The BBMHA Crusaders midget LL team played Lucknow on their home ice to skate away with a 1 to 0 loss. It was a truly unfortunate goal, that became the game changer.
The Crusaders and Lucknow Sepoys have always played games with low scores and tight matches. This game was not exception. Out boys skated hard, but just couldn't get it organized enough to put it past the goalie. Maybe it was the full 2 line bench. We have been doing awesome with 8 skaters, whatever the reason it wasn't meant to be.
As a parent it can disheartning to watch your child's team lose when the past has them doing the opposite. So what goes on the change room after....as a manager I can tell you that the anguish we as parents put forth is not mirrored in the boys. After this game there were only a couple of players chatting about the game and the rest were being typical teenage boys talking about girls...lol. So we can put our big hearts away and try to understand that it is their sport with their wins and losses. What these boys like best is the social aspect hockey gives them and I guess in the whole scheme of life, that is the memory they will carry forever.
We have 3 more games in our round robin playoff schedule, lets continue to cheer them on!!
