Another point on the win side...
On Thursday Feb. 25th the team traveled to Howick for our match against them in playoffs. It turned out to be another lesson of living with the rules and how they were enforced.
Just shy of 3 minutes into the game Jared Shearer and his "lucky/stinky" uniform gave the team their first point. He received passes from Logan Finlayson and Trevor DeCorte. Great start boys. The only goal scored in the second period was a lone attempt from Logan Finlayson. This would be the start of good things for Logan.
The third period was the action for goal scoring to help both teams. Jeff Gordon started us off with a pass from Jared and Conner Bridge. Just 5 minutes later Logan put another point on the board for the Cursaders with a pass from Jeff. To prove that the game is never done until the last buzzer rings, Logan buried the puck behind the goalie after he took a pass from Brett Glousher. In total we counted 3 goals and Howick put 2 on their side of the screen. It was great period of play.
The Crusaders had 8 skaters and 1 goalie for this match. Seems to be the theme lately...but also the theme that works!! These boys did a great job keeping their opinions to themselves when it seemed like we could do no right. It is well understood that penalties make for more skating and work on the rest of the team and these boys work hard to keep up that attitude.
Again another game the coaches and parents are proud to call these boys their own!!!
Thus far we have played 4 games and came out on top in 3. This is a great start to the playoffs boys, keep up the great work!!!
